The Aeno family had been long renowned for the wine they made; much of Plesus was occupied by Aeno vineyards and orchards, which fueled their wealth. For years the Aeno family served the emperors and empresses of the land faithfully, all while pulling the strings of royal family from behind the curtain. In fact, it became custom for the first thing the emperor was to do after being crowned was drink from a cup of Aeno wine. The Aeno used this to their advantage, the Aeno family poisoned Alexios with their wine, killed his guardsmen, much of the crowd that was present at his inauguration, as well as most of the Dyosavos family, including children and women.

Once the Aeno family took charge of Illythkos, the Capital was renamed to Aenorianes, a name to reflect the family. Wine is truly ingrained into the culture here, most of it being produced by the royal family. Most taverns sell wines, rather than ales. Just like other Illythkosi cities, music and theater are thriving.
