Home to the Thunderfeet, Chel-Nekhali is a vast stronghold spanning miles underground. The Thunderfeet are a heavily militaristic tribe of Dwarves that are usually spotted by their exquisite plate armor with the insignia embossed on the back plate.

Chel-Nekhali is comprised of vast networks of underground caverns, which house everything from living places to mines to markets. While the locations of entrances are well hidden, the entrances themselves are elaborate and exquisite works of masonry, depicting Dwarves in all their glory. They are master strategists, various entrances lead to dead ends and set off alarms to alert the main stronghold, others lead to traps intended to kill their invaders, all with posted guards to dampen suspicions, and while their true entrances are well hidden, when they march they are anything but. The sound of their march can be heard from miles away, giving the clan their name.

Currently, the stronghold of Chel-Nekhali is overseen by High Commander Ruma Alehorn Thunderfoot, a brute of a man who has no mercy in his heart and shows no love towards anyone except his wife, not even towards his own children. Leadership is passed on not from father to son, but by blood spilled on the battlefield. If ever there comes a Thunderfoot who has spilled more blood than the current King or Queen, that Dwarf shall supplant the incumbent as ruler. This is to ensure the King or Queen fights alongside their men and women, rather than holing up in Chel-Nekhali. For reference, Alehorn has ruled for nearly 130 years. In war, a Man spills more blood than a dog, and a Giants spills more than a man, killing large opponents raises your status more quickly, and can even earn one titles.
