The city under the sharks, Spéir Dtonnta is the blueprint for a successful Triton community, which most other Sea Elves have used to create their settlements. The city is built along the ocean shelf off the western coast of Yludel, and although the city is surrounded by the apex predator of the sea, the sharks seem quite docile to the Tritons and their visitors. The city is built of layers working their way down the shelf, platforms made of giant shells or bones house common spaces with businesses, places of entertainment, and other establishments. Living spaces are dug out of the ocean shelf, working their way deep into the crust. The city lights their “streets” and homes with bioluminescent algae and kelp, and a bit of magic.
Tritons believe their dead are guaranteed a place in the afterlife as a result of being the children of Oirbsen. Thusly, the Tritons have no need for burying their dead or preserving their bodies, not to mention the difficulties that would come from their environment. There are not graves for their dead, instead, the dead are remembered by carving their name on an obelisk, that is then dropped into the deepest depths of the ocean.
