The High Kingdom of Brigtuir is a city comprised entirely of a single castle, a pyramid-like, conic structure that reaches high into the sky, the streets winding their way around the pyramid until they meet the north facing stairway to the High Palace. The city is a typical Elven city, its inhabitants almost entirely made up of high Elves and the buildings of the city made to reflect their elegant nature. The city is looked down upon by Lady Urel of Brigtuir, the current Queen of the high Elves, she is a caring but overconfident queen. She shows very little affection to anyone from outside her city, although they are allowed in by all means, she cares very little about the happenings outside of the spire city.
Brigtuir is actually named for the Elven name of the Dwarven Goddess Ruheema, Brigantia. The name stems back from a time before the Elves broke the island of Túirna Déithe away from the main continent after expelling Dwarves from the lands. Although they live in strife with one another, Dwarves and Elves once considered themselves cousins, and thought of their Gods, Frithsaet and Ruheema as siblings. Dwarves, in their infinite creativity when it comes to construction, built a towering city reaching into the sky for the Elves, just as their cities stretched into the earth. The Elves named it after the Dwarves’ Goddess, Brigtuir, meaning Tower of Brig, supposedly Frithsaet’s nickname for Ruheema. However, for unknown reasons, relations have soured between the races; the Dwarves we driven from the lands, and the Elves forbid any Dwarf from stepping foot in the city of Brigtuir, and broke the island from the mainland to ensure no Dwarf would even get the chance to gaze upon their ancestors’ work.
Each layer of the city opens up to a large area on the inside, with archways which let in light, each layer with different purposes, from marketplace to guild halls, temples to the shadier businesses, like brothels and gambling halls. The houses are mostly located along the winding road, becoming nicer and nicer as you go higher.
