Goliaths are a semi-nomadic people, and they take great care of the natural in which the reside. Due to their semi-nomadic nature, most of their nutrients come from hunting and gathering, and so they go to great lengths to not damage the ecosystem, but instead cooperate with it to take from it what it can freely give, but also give back what it needs. This is part of the reason they are semi-nomadic in nature, if a place they are dwelling seems to be running low on food, they will leave and allow the ecosystem to rebalance itself by taking themselves out of the equation. They typically stay in one spot for no more than 3 years, and will not return to a spot for at least 7 years after leaving.
Goliaths strike a resemblance to the mighty and imposing moose that are common in the areas they reside. They receive their height and bulk frame from their lineage tracing back to Giants, but they also have short, course hair that resembles that of the animal. Most notably are the large antlers that the men sport, and though they are not as easily provoked as the animal, they are just as fierce.
While they typically worship the land itself, they also have a selected few deities they venerate. Over any others is Kern, who they call Cernunnos. Kern was one of their brethren, who laid out their current code of ethics regarding the caretaking of their ecosystem, when to leave a habitat and when they can return, practices for using parts of an animal, and how to give back to the environment they lived in. For these acts, he gained a substantial following and was exalted to the status of God upon his death, becoming the patron deity to a people that previously had none.
Goliaths largely do not believe in an afterlife, they believe that instead their soul is returned to the land, and that each Goliath soul actually contains shards and pieces from older generations. As such, the Goliaths highly venerate their ancestors and believe them to provide their strength and wisdom. Those believed to be blessed by the ancestors is selected to serve as a shaman.
