The day of Shortfeast holds many similarities to the days of Longfeast. However, it differs in length and reason. While Longfeast lasts 3 days, Shortfeast lasts but one; while Longfeast celebrates the coming plentiful seasons and thanks the Gods for good fortune, Shortfeast is mainly for using what’s left, as well as praying for mercy from the Gods in the coming winter. Nomadic merchants and sailors leave their lands of business on this day before they’re trapped by the coming frost. This day denotes the halt of the hustle and bustle of the north, just as the month of Bearsleep does.
