Nuada is among the most arrogant of Elves who, although skin now pale and hair silvery white, was once among the most decorated Amfos. Upon losing his arm in battle, his royal status was revoked in light of his imperfection, as Amfos tradition demands perfection from a member of the royal court. In his anger, Nuada began to tamper with time in an attempt to reclaim his lost arm.
When the Amfos discovered his treacheries, they cast him out of his home, filled with rage and vengeful spite, Nuada secluded himself in the underdark. When a forest spirit granted him a working arm of silver, Nuada returned home, hoping to be stored in status. When the Amfos still rejected him, he returned to the underdark, and continued to tamper with time.
Soon, many joined him, under temptation and desire for true perfection, a beauty that would go untouched by the passage of time. The Silver King and his followers would be stricken by a curse from the God of time, for attempting to manipulate its flow. Forbade from evoking the name Amfos and given the blasphemous name of the “Rrafos,” the irreverent, Nuada and his followers were damned to lives of utter perfection, they would never again know the wonder of the small imperfections and differences that create true beauty.
Cursed with silver skin, reflecting the Silver King that betrayed the protection of time, and a common visage, the Rrafos stand as a testament of betrayal. Their curse would serve as permanent reminder or their treacheries, as well as a warning to the Amfos, to protect time, not fiddle with it.
