God of Deserts, Sandstorms, Crocodiles, Rivers, and Fertility. Patron of the Orcs. Aeon.
Shebek is chieftain of the Orcish Pantheon, and is also the God of Deserts, Sandstorms, Crocodiles, Rivers, and Fertility. Amongst the Orcish tribes of Biriqia, Shebek is not seen as evil, as he is often portrayed outside of the nation. Instead, He is a God of Fertility and Agriculture, creator of rivers and crocodiles as protectors of the rivers. Shebek is often seen as a man with the head of a Crocodile.
His nature is unpredictable and instinctual as are his rivers. While they bring gifts of food and fertility, they also bring death and doom. In the capital of Biriqia, Shedyet, his temples and shrines are well kept. Within the temple of Shebek, the Orcs keep a crocodile, named the son of Shebek. The son of Shebek is considered divine and anyone killed by him is considered chosen by the Gods.
Shebek holds honor above all else. All Orcs are expected to maintain their honor and choose before all else the honorable choice. In war, Orcs are known for holding honor in high regard, never stooping lower than their opponent. The society of the Orcs is steeped in traditions too old to remember their origins. Bodies are mummified upon death, and the leaders of the Orcs, the Pharaohs, are placed in pyramids to be closer to the Gods.
