Iren is the trade capital of Ohnk, and is a major hub for Iron in the world of Ylembica. It is wise not to anger the rulers of Ohnk or Iren, as doing so could cease iron flow to cities or countries. Situated in the southern end of the Ironshield Mountains, Iren sits atop the Bozkir River, named for the greyish color the silt gives it. The city is known as a central hub for iron production and trade, and thus, sends out ship upon ship, caravan upon caravan, stocked to the brim with iron. People of this smoky city take pride in their iron, and miner is one of the most dutiful occupations one can take in this city. On top of iron production, the city also mines a lot of coal, giving it the nickname of the “Smokey City,” the people come out of the mines covered in soot, and the streets are lined with a thin veneer of dust from the mines, the sky reeks of coal and sulfur, and is stained an ashy grey.
