Home to the Coinmakers, these Dwarves follow suit of the residents of Oro, although they would say that Oro follows them. Both are rather obsessed with currency, just as Oro is ruled by a council of wealthy merchants, Chel-Kesaphi is ruled by the wealthiest Dwarf or Dwarves. These Dwarves fit right into the culture of Oro, the two cities do business with each other extensively, and it is not unheard of a Dwarf from Chel-Kesaphi serving on Oro’s Merchant Council. The Coinmakers are, as the name suggests, skilled coin makers, not only that, they are experts in all things valuable and luxurious. While the Cloudsmiths live in the lap of luxury, the Coinmakers are the skilled crafters that create so much of the luxurious goods that the wealthy enjoy so much.
As the Clayfist stronghold is ordained with clay, so too is Chel-Kesaphi with silver. Legend says that Coinmakers are the originators of metal currency, creating the first gold coins and giving them their historic name, a gift from the Dwarven Goddess of Coins. The king of Chel-Kesaphi, King Gebrer Septum Coinmaker, sits upon a throne of coins as the wealthiest Dwarf in Chel-Kesaphi and likely all of Ylembic.
Although Chel-Kesaphi and Oro trade with one another and maintain good relationships, there exists some tension with each side worrying they may be the poorer of the two. This competition to be wealthier than the other doesn’t always manifest itself in the best ways, the two nations’ histories are filled with sabotage, assassinations, and wars stemming from the other side. There are whispers that many of the Coinmaker leaders are secretly followers of the devil lord Mnedis.
