Goddess of Love, Agriculture, and Earth. Patron of Humans. Aeon.

EE-yoh-nuh, Rhymes with “Fiona.”

Eona is among the Aeons, one of the oldest Gods, one of those created by the Archons to fight in their war against the Demiurges. Unlike the other Aeons, she carried neither sword nor axe, mace nor pole, instead, she was fashioned only with a shield, meant to protect her and others so she could administer much needed aid to the weary and broken. For these acts of kindness and selflessness, she became known as the Goddess of Love.

Eona is the Patron of Humans, myth states that after all the other Gods had dealt out powerful, concentrated souls to their creations, Eona looked upon the leftover husks and wept, and rather than follow in the footsteps of her fellow Gods and dole out powerful souls to few individuals, she divided her allotment of souls until it was able to fill the rest of the empty vessels. These vessels would not have a particularly strong soul, but at least they would not walk for the rest of their lives as mindless beings.

Eona, perhaps due to her association with Humans, became known as the Goddess of Agriculture. As Humans are plentiful, so too are their farms, giving her purview over the production of crops and livestock. Through her position as Goddess of Agriculture she became associated with the Earth and its life-giving qualities. Though Lady Darce is the Goddess of Marriage, Eona still has a large part to play in matrimonial ceremonies. While Lady Darce links the couple in a holy union, Eona is oft evoked for the part she plays in their everlasting love. Both Goddess are prayed to on anniversaries for good tidings for the years to come.
