Totec is the chief deity of the Couatl, a race of divine beings born of the Astral Plane. Totec is the creator of the Couatl, cosmic beings who some say have existed even longer than Sige, which they now occupy the cosmos of, outside of the Pleroma and Kenoma. Older than the Aeons, the title would lessen Totec’s part in the Grand War between the Archons and Absolutes. Totec sided with the Archons from the very onset of their Grand War, and saw the need to protect all life that the Demiurges had enslaved. Though he may not have been as selfless as Eona, it is hard to find any being as willing to lay down their life as she.
Totec, along with the Couatl, would prove to be instrumental to defeating the Demiurges. While the Archons of Archons knew how to create a God, the Demiurges had a secret of their own, the ability to travel between Concerning Planes. They had discovered the Einzhof and how to manipulate it, how to use its permeance to travel to other realms and planes and ultimately find a plane worth conquering. However, the Couatl were known for their cunning and nimbleness, and scried the secrets of the Demiurges and taught the Archons how to traverse the Ethereal Plane, acting first as guides. The act of traversing from plane to plane is somewhat destructive, leaving holes in the fabric of the fabric of the source and destination planes, these tears brough some of the Plane of Soul into the Material Plane which glowed hot and bright in the cosmos, creating the Stars, which now act as guides to others across the realm. For their part in the Grand War, the Couatl were given domain over the Stars and Light.
However, there was one dissenting among the Couatl, Kpactli, who beleived the Couatl should side with the Demiurges and rule with them over the mortal beings of the Material Plane. He used his cunning and nimbleness to trick his brethren and steal the secrets of the Archons, mainly the ability to create a God. He brought the information to the Demiurges, who would use it to create Seht, God of Chaos. For this act of rebellion and betrayal, Kpactli would be cast out, turned into the first Aboleth. It is unknown if the Couatl turned Kpactli into an Aboleth as punishment, or the Demiurges did as a reward, in either case, the Couatl and Aboleths live in hatred of one another.
