Ourania is the Muse of Stories and Astronomy. Just as the Quadrivium is often regarded as the highest muses, those hardest to impress and court for inspiration, Ourania is regarded as the Queen of the Muses. Gaining the favor of Ourania is no easy task, she only gives inspiration to the most impressive minds willing to spend the time and effort needed to fully comprehend her gifts. Just as the Divium builds the foundation for the Trivium, and the Trivium builds the foundation for the Quadrivium, the rest of the Quadrivium build a foundation for Ourania, in regards to both of their aspects. Dance, Song, and Poetry build the foundation for Storytelling as an artform, and and understanding of Geometry, Time, and Arithmetic are necessary to understand the cosmos. Ourania’s gifts are difficult to comprehend and even harder to master, as such, she is incredibly selective of those who she inspired, as her gifts have been known to overwhelm and even drive mad the minds of those ill-prepared to receive them.
Her blessed are of course most often astronomers and storytellers, however, she also counts sages and spellmasters among her ranks. Travelers, chiefly sailors, also count numerous among her ranks, as they use the stars to guide their navigation.
