Aegis in their singular form, the Aegides are Constructs of Solomon, God of Stillness and Order. In their eternal struggle of order vs chaos, Solomon, along with the Goddess Khemia, created the Material Plane. Above all else, Solomon and the Aegides value stillness; conversely, Khemia and the Nymphs value fluidity. Older than the Archons and some say even older than Sige, Solomon and Khemia would continually push back on one another. Khemia would fashion a lake and Solomon would build a mountain range to contain it, Khemia would forge a river to cut through the mountains and Solomon would produce a valley to contain the river. The two work on extreme cosmological scale, and care little for the affairs of mortals, opting to allow their lesser creations to worry themselves on actions that are unlikely to affect their struggle. Still there are actions mortals can take that will catch the ire of the two, mainly actions that interfere with their ability to push back on their counterpart. These actions might include damming a river permanently, draining or filling a lake, and eroding a hill or mountain, and could incur these greater forces to send their creations to deal with the problem.
