Although their origins are unknown entirely, most believe the Goblins to trace their lineage back to Gnomes and Halflings. Goblins worship Uobos, the trickster Goddess of Nightmares, who takes great pleasure in the fear and terror of the resting races. She forced a tribe of Gnomes into a deep sleep, then racked their brains with horrible imagery for years and years, until nothing was left but the nightmares and their outer appearance reflected this. Some Goblins worship Vobos and see themselves as manifestations of nightmares, meant to bring deadly dreams into the real world, brewing potions and manipulating their environment to terrify others. Other Goblin tribes have splintered and instead worship Vobos in her original form, the Goddess of Omens and Warnings, and hope to one day restore the honor of their Goddess and their Race.
