God of Predators. Patron of Bugbears. Icon. Former Empyrean.

In life, Myolg was a devoted priest of Kern. Once considered to be his Empyrean, Myolg was later cast out for heresy.

While Kern taught balance in all things, especially nature, Myolg believed in a strict hierarchy that ended with apex predators. To followers of Kern, nature behaved like a wheel and treated no life as better than another, some animals eat plants, predators eat those animals, and upon death, all life is returned to the earth where the cycles starts over. However, Myolg believed that that wheel stopped at the apex predator, and the return of life to the earth upon death was negligible, it only mattered who was on top in life.

Kern was upset at this heresy, and excommunicated Myolg from his clergy. Myolg responded by killing a beloved stag of Kern’s. Kern cursed Myolg to take on the appearance of the predators that he put atop his hierarchy. This metamorphosis isolated him and this isolation drove him madder and madder, until he resembled his predators in both body and mind.

Now, he is venerated by the sociopathic fringe of society, those who agree with Myolg’s twisted hierarchy of might makes right. His followers believe that strength is the only roadblock in the decision to do something. These followers often carry out heinous actions in looking for the favor of the Beast King. Myolg took with him a cult of Goliaths, those also discontent with the teachings of Kern, who just like he did, slowly warped into corrupted versions of their former kin, growing sharp claws and fangs, coarse, fur-like hair, and keen senses of smell, which made them all that much better at emulating apex predators.
