God of Animals, Forests, and Revelry. Patron of Goliaths. Icon.

CAIRN, Rhymes with “Fair’n.” CARE-new-nos, Ryhmes with “There who goes.”

Kern is a son of Iovis and an unknown Elven Heroine, born a demigod, He was eventually exalted to Godhood by his fellow Goliaths for his piety and deeds. He is venerated by the Goliaths as Cernunnos, King of Animals. Kern was born as a Goliath, a special one perhaps, considering his father, but mortal nonetheless, and used his highborn status to put into place the doctrines and tenants that Goliaths use to this day to protect the food chain they rely on.

Kern teaches that all animals are equal in the eyes of nature, that includes those with higher minds such as they. Even those which live for centuries such as Elves and Dwarves will eventually die and return to the ground, where they will be reabsorbed and used to create new life. He advocated for migration during winter, as their leaving will allow for the environment to have one less stress placed upon it. He called upon the use of all parts of an animal, bones are used for tools, tendons and sinew for gelatins, organs as waterskins, and of course furs as clothing. The Goliaths live and die by what the land can provide for them, which they can mostly trace back to the teachings of Kern.
